Each base is carved from a single piece of solid walnut hardwood, giving it the natural grain, character, and warm appearance of genuine wood. The front is finished with the Monarch Building Block slogan, "Don't Just Stack It...BUILD IT!!!" burned directly into the wood.
For added functionality, each Building Base includes a removable storage tin built into the base. The empty tin can hold up to 12 troy ounces of Monarch Silver Building Block Bars, providing convenient storage when your blocks are not being used for building or display.

wood base
A bit smaller dimensionally than would be preferred, the tin slot is unnecessary and the board would be much better if the root studs were a little longer and the boards "playable" surface extended over the entire piece of wood. not terrible and is nice to have but honestly would not buy again or suggest it as the blocks stack just fine without this.

Nicely made but not worth it because nubs are almost flat and do not lock in bars well.
